IODASA is making available a  pay per use, on water regatta coaching support,  for  Open and Intermediate sailors, at the up coming December IODASA SA State Championships, at ASC.

Unlike Green Fleet, Open and Intermediate sailors can not be assited with technical assistance during a  race.  For some sailors, being out on water can be daunting, particualy in unfamiliar waters. 

On water coaching support provides Open and Intermediate sailors with the reassureance  that someone is out on water with them  looking  over their well being and sailing development on water. The coaches aslo observe the sailors during their race and can provided valuable realtime feed back to the sailors between races and then at debriefs.

Your sailor will  provided assistance  via :-

• briefing and de briefing coach support on land each day
• receiving on water coaching between races ( what went well - where to improve- conditions advice etc)
• assistance with minor  equipment failures ( ie minor repairs on water between races)
• experienced technical  coaching on water between races ( no coaching is permitted whilst racing)
• coaches can carry sailors extra provisions- food, jackets etc
• general mustering on land and sea!

This model of on water support is the standard for States , Nationals and International Optimist regattas.

To ensure quality of service delivery- coach ratios will be capped at 8-10 per coach .

Cost $70/ sailor 

This option  will be offered by registrion date order. Where  insufficient numbers are achieved to make a full group- Funds will be returned.

NOTE: Current IODASA State and Development Squad members do not need to apply- coverage already provided via the existing SQUAD programme
